Substance Abuse Specialist - Program of Assertive Community Treatment

Full-time (40 hr) position available providing and coordinating substance abuse assessment, treatment, planning and service delivery tailored to the individual needs of clients with dual disorders of mental illness and substance abuse utilizing an assertive outreach model as a member of a self-contained interdisciplinary team.

Qualification: Master’s degree in social work, psychology, rehabilitative counseling or related field required. At least 2 yrs experience providing rehabilitative services to adults with mental illnesses required. At least 1 year supervisory experience providing substance abuse treatment interventions to persons with co-occurring psychiatric mental illness. Certification as an addictions counselor preferred. PACT or assertive community treatment experience preferred. Valid driver’s license required.

Position: Senior Child Care Worker
Job Category: Direct Care

Summary of Position: The Senior Child Care Worker is directly responsible for the overall functioning and management of the House assigned in the absence of the Unit Supervisor. The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

Essential Functions:

• Provide regularly scheduled training and weekly individual and group supervision to milieu staff.
• Plan and execute weekly milieu staff meetings in the absence of Unit Supervisor.
• Responsible for new employees’ six-month adjustment review and annual performance review.
• Monitor, perform and assist in providing behavioral and physical intervention in accordance with the approved format when needed.
• Review and track all serious incident reports and restraint reports.
• Ensure structure and safety of the therapeutic milieu while providing support and supervision of residents and milieu staff.
• Preparation and/or assistance in generating behavioral reports in all required formats.
• Attendance at Treatment Meetings and School Meetings as assigned.
• Creation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of behavior management programs for clients in conjunction with the treatment team.
• Create, implement and monitor planned community and milieu activities.
• Provide Supervisory coverage for both Houses as deemed necessary.
• Process concerns and incidents with staff and clients in an appropriate manner.
• Assume supervisor on call and intake on call responsibilities as deemed necessary.
• Ensure efficient and timely record-keeping in accordance with Quality Assurance practices.
• Assume the role of Medical Liaison for the residents of the program.
• Ensure staff office supplies are sufficient including blank copies of blank paperwork.
• Ensure weekly Milieu Reports are completed and passed in to Clinical Case Managers.
• Ensure follow up calls are completed and documented for discharged clients in the STARR program.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Education/Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED, BS/BA strongly preferred.
• Minimum 12 months experience working with children and families.
• Demonstrated supervisory abilities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential in conjunction with computerized literacy, organizational and motivational abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to independently carry out department objectives with limited supervision.

Mental Abilities: Must be receptive and responsive to supervision and professional development. Ability to be flexible and work collaboratively. Ability to respond to emergencies quickly and safely. Ability to work in a stressful and fast paced environment. Ability to understand principles taught in trainings and seminars and apply to the milieu. Must understand issues of confidentiality. Evidence of sensitivity and respect for client’s culture and socioeconomic characteristics.
Physical Abilities: Must be able to participate in activities with children. Ability to work and stand for extended periods. Ability to provide therapeutic physical restraint. May require bending, stooping, stretching, and lifting of 75 pounds. Visual and hearing acuity to perform job related functions.

Program Director - Community Based Flexible Support Services (Woburn)

We are looking for a Program Director in our Community Based Flexible Support (CBFS) service, which offers high quality, person-centered rehabilitation services to individual diagnosed with mental illnesses. Persons served may also have co-occurring diagnoses of PDD or other developmental disabilities. Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day clinical and administrative operations of a CBFS Residential Program and for overseeing the day-to-day administrative operations of a CBFS Division. S/he will ensure services are recovery-oriented and inclusive of families and significant others. S/he will also ensure adherence to Edinburg Center/CBFS Services policies and procedures and compliance with all state and local licensing / certification requirements and regulations. Participates in planning, coordinating and documenting the IAP process with division consumers using recovery-oriented and evidence-based practices

Qualifications
Masters degree in relevant clinical field or matriculation in such a program required. Minimum of one year clinical experience working with persons diagnosed with mental illness required. Clinical Director - Community Based Flexible Supports

We are looking for a Clinical Director for one of our Community Based Flexible Support (CBFS) service teams, which offers high quality, person-centered rehabilitation services to individual diagnosed with mental illnesses. Persons served may also have co-occurring diagnoses of PTSD or substance abuse. The Clinical Director will oversee the clinical and rehabilitative operations of a team of outreach and residential staff. S/he will perform all intakes and assessments of persons referred for service. The Clinical Director will train and supervise the staff in developing Individual Action Plans with consumers and in documenting consumer progress. S/he will ensure services are recovery-oriented and inclusive of families and significant others. S/he will also ensure adherence to Edinburg Center/CBFS Services policies and procedures and compliance with all state and local licensing/certification requirements and regulations.

Qualifications
Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts and 2 years post Master’s work experience required. Training and experience in Illness Management and Recovery (IMR) and/or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy strongly preferred. Supervisory experience required. Fund for the Public Interest (The Fund) is a national nonprofit organization working to raise money and increase visibility, membership and political power for the nation’s leading environmental and progressive groups. We are looking for a highly organized individual to provide critical administrative support to the Fund’s National Telephone Outreach Project, (TOP). The TOP conducts outreach for 60+ Public Interest Network groups, including USPIRG, Environment America, Environmental Action, Progressive Future and Green Corps.

We work in 20+ states to reach out to people one-on-one to raise money, recruit members, and do grassroots political work on behalf of nonprofit groups like U.S. PIRG, Environment America, Progressive Future and more. Some of the issues we’re working on include responding to the BP Oil Spill, protecting our National Parks and working to boost recycling by expanding the Bottle Bill. We’re hiring a National TOP Administrative Assistant (National TOP AA) who works directly with our National TOP Director as the chief administrator for the whole project.

A few specific responsibilities for the National TOP AA include:
  • Serve as chief administrator providing support and leadership for a national project, including 3 local outreach offices.
  • Track campaign messages and materials for more than 60 non-profit organizations.
